Getting to know me! :)

My mom used to sing to me as a child (haha, she still does). Her favorite to sing was Shirley Caesar's "No Charge". The lyrics read,
For the nine months I carried you, holding you inside me, no charge For the nights I sat up with, doctored you and prayed for you, no charge For the time and tears and the costs through the years There is no charge When you add it all up the full cost of my love is no charge
My mother always told me that she does everything for my sister and I out of pure and unfiltered love. I truly believe that. Growing up, I was not the easiest to handle. Attitudes that were out of this world, an appetite bigger than myself, and petty drama with my sister are just a few of the things to add to a long list of attributes that only a mother could love. No matter what I did, at the end of the day, my mother still loved me. No matter how much I costed her and my dad, she still loved me.
As I grow older, I am realizing that I am truly blessed to have a woman like her in my life. Rhonda Harden is the woman who made me; the woman that I aspire to be. I am so happy that she was the womb I landed in. I can't imagine being the child of anyone else. Mom, you're my #sHERO
Today's society does not give women, let alone mothers, the credit that they deserve. Yes, mother's have always been the homemakers, but they are truly so much more than that. They are freakin' superheroes. They work, cook, clean, fix, calm down and everything in between. I've noticed that mothers usually don't ask for anything in return or any kind of recognition. Some say they don't need it, others say that it's their job and others say that they wouldn't want to be doing anything else. Well, I disagree. It's time to start giving our mother's the #respect and #recognition they deserve.
Whether you call her Ma, Mama, Mother, Mommy or what have you, call her up and tell her how much you love and appreciate her...she did give birth to you, after all.
